Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Responsible for all day-to-day activities associated with the Supervisor of Organ Recovery Coordinators which includes:
- Organizing and managing organ donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation, and recovery processes
- Complying with and implementing all applicable standard operating procedures
- Working successfully with various staff members of STA, hospitals, and transplant centers to facilitate the organ donation process to maximize the gift of donation.
Responsible for day-to-day management and leadership of Supervisor of Organ Recovery Coordinators staff which includes:
- Works with the People Services and senior leadership to recruit, interview and hire qualified staff.
- Participates in new employee orientation.
- Prepares appropriate work assignments and schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Initiates conflict resolution processes which include employee counseling as needed.
- Conducts annual performance assessments, and competency assessments.
- Monitors and controls the time accounting of Clinical Department staff.
- Submits and reviews time sheets, and expense reports.
- Reviews and approves PTO requests.
Works with the Director of Clinical Services Central to develop and track performance metrics for each area of responsibility of the Clinical Department staff, including, but not limited to donor evaluation, donor management goals, donor chart documentation, organ allocation, and organ recovery outcomes.
Provide mentorship, coaching, support, and motivation to clinical staff.
Observe the clinical staff regularly relating to a broad variety of hospital personnel, including intensivists and critical care nursing staff.
Complete assessments on clinical staff expected activities to allow for professional growth and improvement within the department.
Ensure that clinical staff adhere to organizational policies.
In addition to normal 24-hour recovery call, this position is responsible for administrative and clinical call necessary to observe and evaluate staff members, assist staff with problem solving and answer administrative questions related to organ donation efforts.
Assures that organ recovery is done in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards (OPTN, UNOS, STA, state, and federal laws, etc.) necessary to assure safety of organs and appropriate accreditations.
Responsible for preparation for all inspections and supports periodic audits of functions to ensure ongoing compliance.
Assists in budget development for clinical department.
Works with the Hospital Services department to identify opportunities for increased donation, presentation of common integrated message, and improvement in donation outcomes.
Collaborates with the Education and Development department to develop and implement programs focused on education and training of the Clinical department team to ensure Clinical Services staff are properly trained and competent to perform assigned duties and responsibilities.
Interacts with Quality Systems to ensure quality monitoring of activities related to organ procurement including chart record review, case oversight, technical decision-making, documentation, and customer satisfaction.
Performs other duties as assigned.
