Mesa Veterinary Clinic (MVC) in beautiful Southern Colorado is looking for the right mixed animal veterinarian to join our large multi-doctor team so we can continue to grow! It is a practice that opened in 1978 and has continued to evolve and change as the area changed and our population grew. We are one of the only multi-doctor mixed animal practices still operating in our area.
Practice Highlights!
- Privately owned practice with 6 highly experiences and team orientated doctors. Drs. Joseph Barker (CSU'94, co-owner), Matthew Braunschmidt (ISU '03), Tiffany Barr (CSU '08, co-owner), James Fitzgerald (CSU '12), Rachel D'Andrea (ISU '22), Leah Metzger (KSU '22)
- Our 2023 caseload was 80% small animal (mostly canine, feline with some small pocket pets, such as rabbits, rats, hamsters, backyard chickens) and 20% beef cattle (504 cases, some with multiple cattle per visit), small ruminants, and equine.
- Large animal - Primarily haul-in and no overnight on call after 7:30pm! This allows for better safety, efficiency, support staff, and mentoring veterinarians available for collaboration. Easy handling facility (round pen that feeds into indoor stocks and/or a hydraulic chute, and multiple pens). We also have 2 vet trucks for outcalls if schedule allows. Our full-time veterinarians work 4 days a week with a rotating on call shifts of 8:30pm-9:30pm split between 5-6 veterinarians. We no longer offer a traditional 24-hour on call services.
- Proud to have 12 registered veterinary technicians, an experienced practice manager, an experienced practice manager, inventory manager, facility caretaker/handyman, 5 full-time receptionists, and multiple veterinary assistants. We recognize that our profession is very challenging but the people we work with can make all the difference in our mental health. We are committed to hiring the right people and doing everything we can to keep good people, not just filling shifts.
- Not only do we offer a positive work environment, we have an impressive benefit package. A competitive salary with the opportunity for growth, fully paid medical, dental and vision coverage, a profit sharing retirement plan, fully paid professional insurances through AVMA, DEA and Colorado license, annual AVMA and CVMA memberships, PTO, uniform, and CE allowances.
