About The Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days, 7 AM - 7 PM, weekends as needed, first to float
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 3 years
License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP
Must-Have: Experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR), and ability to circulate in the OR

Job Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive care to patients in labor and delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby care units.
Support approximately 320-400 births per month, with 4194 deliveries recorded in the previous year.
Work in a unit with 16 L&D beds, 13 antepartum beds, and an additional 32 postpartum beds located on a separate floor.
Manage common diagnoses such as preeclampsia, placenta previa, twin pregnancies, and diabetes.
Titrate medications like Pitocin and Insulin according to protocols.
Function effectively in a team with a charge nurse on each shift who typically does not take patient assignments.
Collaborate with CSTs and OB/Neonatologists available 24/7.
Utilize the Centricity Perinatal-GE EFM System and Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR for documentation.
Engage in self-scheduling or block scheduling based on departmental needs with potential weekend and holiday shifts for travelers.
Be prepared to float to other hospitals or units, including a high-risk 13-bed antepartum unit.
Wear employer-provided scrubs while on duty.
Participate in a structured orientation with one shift each in L&D, Antepartum, and L&D OR settings.
