Position: Medical Driver Technician – Experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
Location:San Diego, CA
Pay:$20.00 – $22.00/hr.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a self-motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented Driver Technician with a strong background in Durable Medical Equipment (DME). The ideal candidate will perform oxygen equipment deliveries, provide excellent customer service, and educate patients on the proper use of their medical equipment. This full-time position involves in-home delivery, setup, and maintenance of medical equipment, operating under the direction of the Manager/Lead Driver.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver, set up, and maintain home medical equipment, focusing on ensuring patients have a thorough understanding of DME usage and care.
- Provide clear instructions and support to patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of all DME products.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries and equipment servicing.
- Ensure the physical and mechanical condition of the assigned company vehicle, scheduling regular maintenance as needed.
- Participate in evening and weekend on-call duties as per the established schedule.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and Joint Commission standards.
- Perform warehouse duties, including inventory management, equipment testing, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
- Support on-call drivers during busy periods and help minimize missed patient visits and rescheduled orders.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: 1 year of relevant experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Class C License (CDL), and Hazardous Material Endorsement (HME).
- Strong communication skills and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Brightree.
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
- Capacity to work with patients with various disabilities and conduct safety training.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and transport patient equipment up to 70 lbs using assistive devices.
- Safely lift and secure various sizes of oxygen cylinders.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in certain situations.
