We are searching for a full-time Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our new West Haven, CT center, opening in February. The NP or PA will assist in the care of patients and direct staff in the support of patient care.
Centers are open 7 days per week from 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday – Friday, and 8 AM to 5 PM on weekends. Full-time and part-time openings available, with 36-hour work weeks, full benefits, and competitive compensation.
Qualifications:
- Valid NP or PA License
- Some Urgent Care experience required
- Current CPR certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform triage of newly registered patients
- Direct patients to available examination rooms and ensure rooms are set up based on patient initial complaint
- Collect biological specimens and perform testing when requested
- Ensure each room is cleaned after each patient encounter
- Wound care when indicated
- Perform Electrocardiograms when indicated
- Work in conjunction with the center administrator to monitor medical supplies
- Work with nursing staff to call back patients to ensure patient satisfaction
- Assist physician with patient care when requested
- Sterilization of all medical instruments after use
- Interview clinical staff
- Ensure center compliance with medical protocols
- Assist medical director with the proper functioning of the laboratory – including running controls, proficiency testing, and troubleshooting instrument problems
- Scheduling of nursing staff to ensure coverage during all hours of operation
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
