WORK SCHEDULE
Part time, 60% FTE (24 hours per week)
Evening Shift
2, 12 hour shifts, either 3pm-3:30am or 11am-11:30pm

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONOur Emergency Department provides specialized treatment for cardiac, trauma, and stroke patients, and we have been recognized for providing one of the fastest times to treatment for cardiac patients in the Seattle region. Additionally, our unit has received the UW Cares Award and many of our Registered Medical Assistants have received Rose Awards for providing exceptional patient care. Our Emergency Department is fast-paced and a great match for those interested in supporting a diverse population from our local and regional communities. We are a 22-bed Level IV Trauma Center and we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive, collaborate environment where everyone’s contributions are recognized.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms Point-of-Care (POC) Testing, splinting, and wound care
Assists patients to exam room and documents patient history, medications and vital signs
Prepare and clean exam rooms
Assists RN with triage process
Facilitates flow of patients and maximizes operational efficiency
Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
Transports patients within hospital departments
REQUIREMENTSCompletion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
