Job Description
The Pharmaceutical Sciences Exploratory Biopharmaceutics group enables the development, and successful registration, of new drug products, by leading, within formulation development teams, the preclinical bioperformance characterization of new formulations for small, intermediate, and large molecules.
Our team is looking for a strong candidate for the position of Associate Scientist to support biopharmaceutics assessment of oral drug delivery small molecule and peptide candidates. In this role, you will be part of a team of Biopharmaceutics Scientists and working on cross-functional drug product teams to enable the development of novel drug products, through in-depth application of in vitro characterization tools.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement novel predictive in vitro dissolution assays for oral solid dosage forms.
- Develop and implement novel predictive cell culture-based assays for prediction of permeability and screening of novel formulations.
- Document the execution, procedure, results, and conclusions of experiments in a detailed manner.
- Develop and implement analytical methods utilized for in vitro assays.
- Author internal memos, data summaries, and technical reports.
- Strong collaboration with fellow Pharmaceutical Sciences colleagues as well as cross-functional partners.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Analytical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline (with expected completion by December 2024).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with dissolution testing and analytical methods (i.e., HPLC, UV-vis spectroscopy).
- Ability to draft, review and author internal memos and reports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail.
