Radiation Therapist
Join our leading Radiation Oncology Department in Glenwood Springs, CO as a Full-Time Radiation Therapist. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including a Varian True Beam linear accelerator, an Elekta Flexitron HDR afterloader, and more, supporting a wide clinical scope of VMAT, SRS, SBRT, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceutical treatments. As a valued team member, you will administer ionizing radiation for treating diseases, ensuring patient safety, and adhering to all current regulations and protocols.
Compensation: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year plus bonuses and full benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
- Conduct most sophisticated radiation therapy as per the technologically advanced equipment equipped in our facility including VMAT, SBRT, and SRS.
- Collaborate closely with oncologists and physicists to develop treatment plans and deliver treatment while maintaining meticulous records of treatment plans.
- Assess, plan and continually evaluate treatment schedules, modify them as necessary to achieve optimal clinical outcomes with minimum exposure to healthy tissues.
- Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and their families throughout the therapeutic process.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in radiation therapy, including maintaining certifications.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
- Must be certified and maintain certification by R.T. (T).
- Demonstrated understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology related to oncology, radiobiology, and radiation physics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a radiation oncology department.
- Familiarity with Mosaiq is highly considered.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish languages is a plus.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy.
- Proficient in using modern radiation therapy delivery systems, imaging systems, and electronic medical records.
- Ability to interpret and deliver treatments per plans and relevant treatment protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a predisposition to support patients' emotional well-being.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies and techniques in radiation therapy.
