- Registered nurse providing diabetes education services to patients and staff and performing a variety of duties related to inpatient and outpatient diabetes care, including community events related to diabetes.
- Patient care activities related to diabetes management, prevention of diabetes, clinical outcome data collection and analysis, quality improvement activities, staff education, medical staff education, and community education. Delivers diabetes education in accordance with national standards and ADA.
- Recognition requirements through various delivery methods including in-person and telehealth/phone methods to individuals and groups.
- Collaborates as an effective member of the health care team in both settings.
Requirements:
- BSN
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist; Must pass Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist exam with 6 months of NCDBE eligibility, unless extension granted.
- Two years of RN experience
