Key Areas of Ownership
Performance Optimal Health is seeking qualified Athletic Trainers to:
- Provide on-field game coverage and injury management for Fairfield University Club Sports.
- Provide rehabilitation services in the Athletic Training Room for Fairfield University Club Sports.
- Track injuries, maintain documentation, and communicate with key parties.
- Develop and utilize an emergency action plan.
- Work collaboratively with the physical therapy team on-site at Fairfield University.
- Foster and develop community and physician relationships.
- Support client rehabilitation and provide personal training/strength and conditioning services during off-hours from Fairfield University.
- Monitor team practices, athletic equipment, and sporting grounds to ensure safe training and playing conditions.
- Educate, instruct, and supervise athletes in the use of rehab equipment and exercises, providing daily counsel and treatment for injuries.
- Clearly communicate cross-functionally about athletic injuries when appropriate.
- Maintain medical records and forms for treatments given, complete injury or accident reports, and assist with fitting athletic or rehabilitative equipment.
- Communicate athletic clearance (injury status) with coaches.
- Stay informed of developments in the sports medicine field, as well as changes in governmental guidelines affecting the sports medicine program.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- CT licensee and current BOC certification in good standing.
- Current Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and enjoyment in working as part of a team.
- Strong writing skills for communicating with stakeholders.
- Computer literate; experience with data entry is a plus (Apple preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
- Availability for flexible hours that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet fixed time constraints.
- CSCS certification (preferred).
