Position Goal
Assist Physician(s) in the clinic with patient care activities and other staff members in producing high-quality radiographs, entering patient information into the medical management system, and completing administrative duties as required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Carries out radiology requisitions and views.
- Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
- Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
- Assists patients in getting into the positions required to obtain the radiographs needed, with the occasional need to lift the patient.
- Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Stocks necessary supplies.
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Assists and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
- Ensures equipment is in working order and reports any malfunction to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Provides backup support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g., suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked.
Experience:
Required: One year of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
Preferred: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of coursework in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.
Current ARRT certification.
Special Qualifications:
Required:
American Registry of Radiology Technology required.
Florida state license required.
Must maintain BLS.
Must have a valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
