Description
Job requires the individual to be certified as a Radiology Technologist & Registered as a Mammography Technologist. Individual must operate all x-ray and film-processing equipment needed to provide mammography procedures. This individual must be an experienced professional who is able to perform technical procedures with minimum supervision. The technologist must be able to make independent judgment in using ionizing radiation. The procedures performed along with Radiologist's interpretation must meet state and federal regulations. Each facility must designate a quality control technologist with responsibilities to meet the quality control requirements of state and federal guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Hospital or College based accredited Radiological Technology program.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- National Registered Technologist - Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire.
- National Registered Technologist - Mammography within 1 year of hire.
- Texas General Medical Radiologic Technologist License upon hire.
- Radiology experience in a hospital or clinic setting including film processing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have 40 hours of formal training in Mammography and completion of 25 supervised mammograms, as required by the Mammography Quality Standards Acts (MQSA).
- MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY UNIT ONLY: Experience in performing quality control tests for x-ray equipment and film processing equipment.
- Experience in mobile mammography setting.
