Academic Palliative Medicine Physician
The Emory University Division of Palliative Medicine is seeking a full-time Academic Palliative Medicine Physician to join the faculty of Emory University School of Medicine in a comprehensive Palliative Care Program which provides inpatient consultation, outpatient palliative and supportive care, and hospice care to adult patients living with serious illness in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary care model across seven hospitals and four outpatient clinics. Faculty physicians within the Emory Division of Palliative Medicine engage in clinical care at one or more of these sites which include Emory Healthcare facilities (Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory Decatur Hospital, and the Emory Palliative & Supportive Care Clinic), Grady Memorial Hospital, and the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
Successful candidates will be board certified/eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Palliative Medicine Fellowship training is preferred.

Position Description:
Emory Palliative Medicine Academic Faculty Physicians will:
- Provide palliative care consultation as part of an interdisciplinary team of palliative care professionals for patients living with serious illness. Consultation may occur in the inpatient or outpatient setting. Faculty physicians will exhibit excellence in professionalism, quality care, and compassion as they care for patients and interact with colleagues, other health care team members, and learners.
- Serve as the attending physician for patients admitted for General Inpatient care under their hospice benefit in one of our embedded inpatient hospice units or in a scatter-bed model.
- Actively engage in teaching at the bedside with learners completing required or elective rotations in palliative care.
- Pursue academic projects guided by one’s own clinical questions and academic interests.
- Actively engage in service to the Division, the Department, the School of Medicine, and to regional and national organizations aimed at advancing the field of palliative medicine. Identify opportunities to serve as a leader in one or more of these arenas.
