SLUCare Physician Group, a member of SSM Health, is seeking applicants for a Clinical Biochemical Geneticist position available in the Division of Medical Genetics of the Department of Pediatrics. The appointment is anticipated to be at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience.
Candidates for the position should have ABMG active candidate status or certification as a Biochemical Geneticist. Responsibilities will include participation in clinical care, medical education, and administrative duties. The metabolic team includes physicians, a genetic counselor, dedicated nurse, and clinical dietician. The Division also provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, other area hospitals, and outreach clinic sites under the direction of Stephen R. Braddock, MD. The Division provides prenatal genetic services in concert with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women's Health. Faculty members in the Division are actively involved in clinical and molecular genetics research projects. Comprehensive cytogenetics, molecular genetics, and biochemical genetics diagnostic laboratories are available on site. Excellent opportunities for teaching in both didactic and clinical settings are available at the medical student and post-graduate levels. The candidate should have an interest in academic achievement in clinical genetics. The institution is open to working with many types of foreign visa holders, as well as green card holders and US citizens.
