The Department of Orthopedics is recruiting for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join 2 Orthopedic Surgeons and 4 PA/NPs on staff. This person will work closely with the orthopedic surgeon(s) and Orthopedic PA/NPs. Major area of focus will be on adult reconstruction. Basic duties may include:
- OR equipment set-up
- First assisting
- Rounding with in-patients
- Emergency evaluations
- Post-op checkups
- Outreach duties
- General clinic practice
The PA/NP will support the assigned surgeon with histories, physicals, casting, splinting, evaluations, treatment planning, and post-op care. This role will work cooperatively with physical therapists, nurses, and support staff and share call equally. A Wisconsin license and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program is required.
