Our client is a 25 bed Critical Access not for profit hospital centrally located in California. Minutes to wine country and over 300 wineries, mountains or the beach.

Provides advanced nursing care and physician support during the treatment of pediatric patients. Job Duties: Provides care to infant, child, or adolescent patients in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditions. Obtains patient history, screens patients to ensure appropriate physical/mental development, administers immunizations, orders tests or scans, diagnoses illnesses, prescribes medicines and outlines and monitors courses of treatment. Partners with physicians in the development of care plans, and advises physician in changes of patient status. Assists patients in the management of chronic illnesses and promotes health and wellness. Performs school or extra-curricular physical examinations. Adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Monitors and ensures accuracy of patient medical records.
Experience and Education: Performs work with a high degree of latitude. Handles the most complex issues. Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter. Requires an advanced degree in nursing (MSN or DNP), RN and NP licensure, and 2 to 4 years of related experience. Reports to: Typically reports to a department head.

Education:
- Completion of Accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Licensing and Certification Requirements:
- Requires an advanced degree in nursing (MSN or DNP), RN and NP licensure, and 2 to 4 years of related experience. Current License as Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner with the Board of Registered Nursing in the State of California.
- Required passing of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Boards exam
- Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program of study which conforms to the Board’s educational standards set forth in the California Code of Regulations Section 1484 for California graduates only. OR
- Current certification by one of the following boards: the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board or National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties, or American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
- Current AHA BLS certified
- Current AHA ACLS certified (if submitting privileges for inpatient setting)
