As a Registered Nurse 1 within the West Central Health District, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Serve as the TB nurse for the Columbus Health Department
- Provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and/or procedures
- Function as an expanded role nurse providing patient care consistent with patient’s level of need
- Utilize the EMR system to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement
- Order and dispense medications based on nursing assessment and according to established nurse protocol
- Serve as patient advocate and refer patients to community partners or private physicians, when indicated
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. No experience required. *A copy of college transcript is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and one (1) year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
