In this role you will provide clinical leadership and management with oversight of the daily clinical operations to ensure the efficient administration of all clinical activities and adherence to health and safety protocols. Provide direct supervision of primary care and ExpressCare Nurses, Medical Assistants, and Phlebotomists. Provide indirect supervision of specialty clinical staff and imaging techs in collaboration with the service line managers and clinical leads. Directly report to assigned Regional Nurse Manager and indirectly report to and collaborate with the Site Administrator. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lead clinical staff through transformative change. Provide direct patient care when required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day clinical operations by handling issues within the site with Site Administrator and/or appropriate leadership, while fostering an environment of continuous improvement and maintaining high standards for service.
- Plan, implement and evaluate the clinical staffing needs on a daily basis to adequately support patient care in a given area; assigning clinical staff based upon patient acuity, practice volume, and staff qualifications.
- Work collaboratively with the Site Administrator, Site Medical Director and other medical leadership to ensure quality patient care is provided in an efficient and cost effective manner while meeting all regulatory standards.
- Partner with Site Administrator and Operations Manager to lead Active Daily Management activities including conducting daily huddles, updating visual boards, and conducting staff and provider meetings in order to ensure effective communication across all disciplines within the site.
- Monitor practice quality metrics and manage efforts to improve results, including assigning staff to outreach for results and partnering with Operations Manager in assigning admin staff to schedule patients with gaps in care.
- Work with Site Administrator, Operations Manager or others to respond to patient concerns as needed. Monitor and address patient complaints within position responsibility. Ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction. Work with providers, clinical staff and others to address and prevent problems.
- Overall operational responsibility for the routine clinical functions including:
- Ensure appropriate clinical staffing levels and timely, accurate submission of payroll, management of staff time off requests for all direct reports.
- Direct oversight of clinical policies and procedures, as well as health and safety protocols.
- Ensure adequate equipment and supplies are available for assigned area.
- Partner with Site Administrator and Regional Nurse Manager in the hiring of site clinical staff.
- Conduct audits of clinical staff to ensure staff is completing entire clinical intake and addressing patient gaps in care on every patient, every visit.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Active unrestricted RN licensure in CT.
- 2+ years of RN experience.
- Proficient in a variety of software products/systems such as Microsoft Office Excel, Word, electronic health records, scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN or higher.
- 1+ years of management experience in a clinical setting.
- Primary care and/or out-patient experience.
- Progressive nursing leadership experience in a hospital or medical group practice or other Outpatient/inpatient setting.
Connecticut Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
