RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for the Logistics Bed Management Department, at Monmouth Medical Center.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Nursing Degree
- BLS
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
- Bed Management or at least one year acute care experience
Scheduling Requirements:
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring the appropriate placement of patients throughout the hospital.
- Tracks and trends barriers to patient flow, makes recommendations and develops action plans to improve processes and systems.
- Prepares monthly bed management analyses to identify opportunities for improvement in admission and discharge planning.
- Communicates with physicians and nurses regarding emergency and direct admissions based on bed availability, treatment plan and admission criteria.
- Initiates and maintains communication throughout the day with the Emergency Department, In-patient, Operating Room, Cath lab and other specialty areas.
- Works with Case Management, Nursing, Environmental Services and other departments in order to proactively plan for patient admissions, discharges and transfers for effective patient flow.
- Coordinates discharge planning and patient transfers both internal and external as required.
- Circulates through the hospital, constantly evaluating all needs for patient placement.
