Job Summary
The Immunization Regional Consultant serves as the immunization resource in the assigned immunization regional coverage areas of Fulton and Clayton Counties. The primary responsibility of the Consultant is to plan and conduct on-site visits of public and private health care facilities enrolled in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. Utilizing pre-designed assessment methodologies, the Consultant conducts Compliance visits and randomly samples immunization clinic records to collect quantitative and qualitative data and information which addresses compliance of VFC policies. The Consultant must analyze data to determine whether current VFC policies and procedures are effectively carried out by the Provider. The Consultant reviews health care providers’ procedures regarding vaccine ordering, reporting vaccine usage, inventories, and eligibility.
The Immunization Regional Consultant is further responsible for providing overall program support to their assigned region by conducting immunization training, providing technical support and conducting assessment activities.
The Immunization Regional Consultant Position is field assigned and home based. An individual serving in this position, in addition to meeting the general requirements, must also be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, possess problem solving skills, have basic Microsoft skills and strong organizational skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs job duties with minimal supervision
- Serve as the immunization resource in the assigned region
- Monitors, assess and evaluates VFC providers to determine compliance with VFC policies and guidelines through annual site visits
- Plans, coordinates and implements immunization educational training in assigned region
- Provides technical assistance and advice to internal/external immunization partners and the general public to educate, develop, implement and improve immunization practices
- Assesses and evaluates providers immunization best practices using a CDC defined immunization coverage improvement strategy
- Review and interprets Immunization state and federal policies and regulations
- Assist Immunization Program management develop policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines to ensure continuous quality improvement within the program
- Compiles monthly reports and submits in appropriate format within specified timeframe
- Works with Assessment and Field Manager to develop and implement long and short-term goals for the Team
- Participates in immunizations studies data collection and needs assessment of adolescent population annually
- Maintains continuous travel status that may require overnight stay
- Participates in Public Health Emergency response as needed
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR One year of experience at the lower level Healthcare Prgm Consultant 2 (HCP091) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require licensure.
