Great outcomes start with great people and Armor has an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Cumberland County Jail in Portland, ME.
Responsibilities
- Performs psychiatric examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation and health education.
- Works closely with the BHD and/or BHPs in identifying appropriate treatment plans for at-risk patients, or as needed.
- Intermittently attends morning huddle calls, when indicated and/or when there are high-risk patients that require multidisciplinary treatment planning and collaboration.
- Obtains patient histories, follows up with medication verification efforts, reviews pertinent medical history and develops patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format.
- Provides support in coordinating the activities of patient care and/or support staff.
- Participates in developing specific mental health policies and procedures, when indicated.
Qualifications
- Current state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Two (2) years of experience in a psychiatric and/or correctional healthcare setting.
- Proficient with electronic medical records.
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen.
