Our client is seeking an HSE Affiliate Specialist to work in Houston, TX for an initial 12-month assignment, likely to extend!
Detailed Responsibility:
- Maintain the Affiliate Company HSE IMS in full compliance with applicable regulatory framework, Company policies and procedures ensuring the process of continuous improvement.
- Planning and execution of gap analyses on HSE IMS processes against HSE MSG and ISO requirements as well as Health MSG when required.
- Coordinating and facilitating the development and maintenance of the Affiliate Company HSE Integrated Management System documentation within the framework of relevant company policies, plans, manuals and procedures.
- Coaching and supporting Company personnel to ensure understanding and compliance with the HSE Integrated Management System documentation and requirements.
- Supporting personnel in the process of the implementation of Company policies and procedures as part of the HSE IMS.
- Assisting in planning and execution of the internal affiliate audit program.
- Promoting and ensuring Line Managers’ awareness of Company policies, systems, procedures and standards and their correct implementation.
- Developing the necessary new policies and procedures, reviewing and revising existing procedures to meet the business needs of the Company.
- Communicating and raising awareness to all levels of the Company on policies and procedures.
- Supporting the company’s Subsidiaries in the US as the HSE focal point to ensure awareness of Company policies, systems, procedures and standards in their correct implementation and conduct annual audits of each management system.
- Coordinating and supporting Company personnel in the corrective and preventive actions process through systems and procedures with a high level of focus on HSE and sustainability issues and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are fully implemented and effective.
- Prepare affiliate plans such as the annual audit and four-year plans.
- Ensure audit program and associated audits are documented in Synergi / Indaco for HQ.
- Ensure monthly reporting to HQ in regards to manhours, incidents, etc.
- Collaborate with Health department in reporting requirements, such as HEIS, BDHSE.
- Monitoring completion of corrective and preventive actions within internally scheduled deadlines (Synergi / Indaco).
- Schedule and conduct SEQ Management Reviews and reporting for Affiliate offices.
- Coordinate updates to various affiliate registers (Regulatory, Risk, Environmental, etc).
- Verify regulatory compliance status on semi-annual basis (6 months).
- Coordinate / Document Emergency Evacuation and Medical drills.

- Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations (e.g., OSHA 29 CFR)
Main Interfaces:
The job holder has to interface with all departments and locations; including headquarters and subsidiary support, such as:
- Affiliate offices
- Human Resources
- Health
- SEQ
Required competencies:
The job holder must have:
- A bachelor degree in Health, Safety and/or Environmental field.
- At least 4 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Health, Safety and Environmental Management and in developing, evaluation and/or improvement of Quality and Environmental Management Systems preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety management principles and standards.
- Knowledge of Quality and/or Environmental Management certification processes.
The job holder could have the below skills:
- Knowledge of SharePoint.
- ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification.
- ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certification.
- CIH, GSP, ASP or CSP.
The job holder must have proven:
- Integrity, leadership, good written and presentational skills.
- Ability to work as a team member as well as act as team leader.
- Competence in the preparation of documentation to a high standard.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Computer literate on Microsoft programs.
