QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of dental assisting (EDDA) experience
- Must have experience in multi-surface filling and dentures
- Active CPR and AED training
- Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training
- Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
- Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions
- Focus on Patient Safety and Team Safety as a priority
- Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and dispose of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
- Maintain digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
- Educate patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
- Monitor the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
- Prepare tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
- Ensure that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
- Chart existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
- Review the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirm the patient's chief concern
- Take diagnostic quality X-Rays and attach them to the patient chart
- Help the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
