The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities is seeking candidates for multiple full-time teaching positions.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in theory, software engineering, object-oriented programming and development, human-computer interaction, machine learning, data science, and artificial intelligence. However, candidates from all areas of computer science are encouraged to apply.
We are most interested in candidates who are passionate about teaching computer science and have a strong record of, or potential for, achieving excellence in teaching. All candidates should have a Masters or PhD in computer science or a related field.
We will begin application review on October 1, 2024, and applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. See our Faculty Recruiting Page for detailed application information.

Moreover, there are opportunities to teach in other programs such as the department’s Software Engineering MS program or the Data Science BS program.
- Newly renovated space: In Spring 2023, much of the department, including the teaching faculty, moved to space in a newly renovated building with custom offices, conference rooms, and classrooms.
- Opportunity for leadership: There are multiple opportunities for teaching faculty who are interested in departmental or University service, including special education initiatives, public outreach activities, and participation in department or University governance.
- Location: The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. Moreover, the area has a strong computer industry presence and is one of the Midwest’s major economic centers.
