Performs professional duties involved in a variety of mammography procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for mammographic diagnosis of adolescent through geriatric patients. Candidate with 40 hours of mammography education or be registered in mammography preferred.
- Promotes Carilion Clinic's Culture of Excellence and quality service through teamwork, respectful communication, maintenance of a professional environment, partnership with those we serve, and anticipation of patient/customer needs.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients and families served.
- Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs all tests required by MQSA and ACR. Follows all MQSA/ACR regulatory guidelines.
- Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include appropriate procedure verification, file management, film processing, and computer processing skills.
- Evaluates and positions patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience, and safety.
- Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintains ARRT registry and/or mammography registry with appropriate CEUs in mammography as required by MQSA. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.
What We Require:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Experience: Experience preferred but not required.
Licensure/certification: ARRT registered in radiography and/or mammography required. AHA BLS-HCP required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good interpersonal, technical skills, and flexibility in assignments.
