Organization:
The Joshua School’s Englewood campus is searching for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team! We are a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) approved facility school and partner closely with several local school districts to provide intensive services for our students.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for providing targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student literacy and social engagement within the school environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intervention Planning, Implementation, Training & Collaboration:
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review evaluation results and develop individual plans to improve student literacy and social communication skills.
- Develop speech and language-based intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results.
- Develop small group and dyad activities for students in the areas of literacy and social communication.
- Use Behavior Skills Training to coach team members to implement speech and language recommendations.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Evaluate each student’s abilities and formulate each student’s communication profile through records review, assessments, and observations.
- Provide brief, targeted assessments regarding literacy and social communication deficits annually or as needed.
- Recommend adaptations and modifications to the environment including assistive technology.
Progress Monitoring & Documentation:
- Document student progress and provide recommendations for changes in programming.
- Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with professional standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide legal and ethical clinical supervision of Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.
Other Duties:
- Attend regular meetings with Lead Teacher and Program Director.
- Participate in IEP meetings and development.
- Maintain competency in various forms of technology.
Location: Englewood, Colorado
Qualifications:
- Three years experience and a commitment to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Colorado Speech-Language Pathology License.
- ASHA Certification (CCC) and ability to supervise SLPAs.
Hours: 20 hrs/week (part-time position), Flexible in-person schedule within Monday through Friday, core hours 8am-4pm
