BASIC FUNCTION:
Under direction of an assigned supervisor, provides evaluation and treatment to children and their families who have emotional and behavioral disorders.
DISTINGUISH CHARACTERISTICS:
Supervising Clinical Psychologist performs a full range of psychological evaluations and treatment at a high level of professional skill and independence and provides supervision to unlicensed psychologist and interns. Clinical Psychologist II performs a full range of psychological evaluations with a high degree of independence. Clinical Psychologist I performs the evaluations under close supervision of a licensed Clinical Psychologist.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: PhD degree in psychology and a corresponding license issued by the State of California and five years post licensure experience in a mental health setting and meet the State of California requirements to supervise interns.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver’s license; registration as a Psychologist in the State of California.
A valid driver’s license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
