Pay Range: $50.14 - $70.35

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
- At the direction of the CLIA License holder, evaluates the quality of laboratory services personnel, and equipment.
- Relates laboratory services to the medical staff and patients.
- Assesses laboratory needs and utilization and explores sources and methods to meet that utilization.
- Ensures compliance with all ELMC and Consortium wide policies.
- Ensures compliance with all outside regulatory policies and agencies such as HIPAA, JC, CLIA, COLA, and OSHA.
- Serves as the Administrator for the ELMC Harvest LIS and co-administrator of the consortium wide Copia LIS.
- Maintains lab policy and procedure manuals.
- At the direction of the CLIA License holder, plans, implements, coordinates, reviews and ensures compliance with all laboratory quality control, proficiency testing, quality assurance, safety, accreditation, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoots and resolves instrument and laboratory system failures.
- Performs specimen collection and lab testing in all areas of the clinical laboratory.
- Routinely reviews patient reports to ensure accuracy.
- Assesses and monitors operational costs and develops laboratory budget.
- Coordinates recruitment, retention, and personnel actions.
- Develops and monitors ongoing continuing education for lab and nursing personnel performing waived testing.

Additional Details:
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
- National laboratory certification - ASCP or equivalent.
- High school diploma or GED.
Experience Required
- 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- 2 additional years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
Knowledge of
- Clinical laboratory and health care regulations.
- Laboratory sciences.
- Working knowledge of other departmental processes.
Skills in
- Competent phlebotomy and technical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced computer use skills.
Ability to
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability for analytical thinking and troubleshooting.
- Ability to lead, manage and motivate personnel.
