Job Overview
St. Joseph’s Health Care System is seeking an attending physician to provide per diem Critical Care Medicine Coverage. Opportunities will be provided at both the Wayne and Paterson Campuses. Primary responsibility is to provide coverage for patients cared for in our Medical Intensive Care Units. Additional responsibilities can include participation in consultations, rapid response, and cardiac arrest teams. The intensivist will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide optimal care. At the Paterson Campus, the intensivist will work with residents and fellows.
Qualifications
The intensivist will have competency in all procedures common to the practice of critical care. Vascular access procedures including hemodialysis catheter placement, tracheal intubation, chest tube insertion, and point of care ultrasonography are required skills. Functioning well within an interdisciplinary team, supporting educational objectives, and assuring quality metrics are met is expected.
ABIM Critical Care Medicine Board certification or eligibility while still within the year of completion of an ABIM sponsored Critical Care Medicine fellowship is required. An unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey, NJ DEA, and NJ CDS are required.
Shifts are twelve hours in length. Most shifts will be between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am. Participation in weekend coverage is expected. The number of shifts available per month will vary. On average, approximately 4 shifts per month will be available. Pay is $230/h.
