Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Surgical Stepdown Unit! (4HH) This position is for a Temporary Traveler.Must have two or more years of current RN acute care hospital experience in related patient population field.$75 per hour for a contract and Potential $5000 Sign on bonus. Eligible for $5000 Sign on Bonus living more than 50 miles from the facility working.
This position is Full Time Night Shift!
Department Overview:
* This unit provides high acuity cardiac care for pre and post cardiac surgery patients to include: bypass surgery, cardiac valve repairs/replacements, thoracic surgery/lung diagnostics, and other cardiac based procedures and treatments.
* Dedicated to high quality care, patient outcomes, safety and teamwork is a standard of the staff
* Nurses handle 4 patients on this unit based on acuity level

Job Summary
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
