Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Immunohematology Clinic (IHC) & BMT
This APP position will have Outpatient responsibility for the Immunodeficiency Clinic within the Cancer Center and Bone Marrow Transplant population.
The successful provider will have responsibility for the management of outpatient pediatric immunodeficiency patients and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) within the Cancer Center.
For IHC (immunodeficiency clinic): The APP will work with the comprehensive, multidisciplinary team helping with consultations, implementation of care plans, acute care visits and decisions related to this unique population of patients. You will work directly with Allergy and Immunology, other consultants, and nursing coordinators.
For the BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) clinic: The APP will work with the team in the outpatient acute care clinic assessing, diagnosing, and treating complications that arise from their transplant in conjunction with your team members.
In both positions, you will be responsible for entering patient care orders, outpatient prescriptions, submitting home care orders, and assisting with coordination of care from inpatient service. Additionally, you will order and manage clinic infusion needs. The APP will assist with education for families.
The position will be weekdays M-F. Participation in focused quality or research projects, in conjunction with the IHC and BMT clinic, is encouraged. Prior immune deficiency or bone marrow transplant experience preferred although not required.
Required Qualifications:
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date.
- Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner OR Current State of Arizona certification as a Physician Assistant or obtained by start date.
- National board certification to match area of education OR maintain certificate in National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an Accreditation Commission for Nursing (ACEN) and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited graduate school of nursing in Pediatric Acute care, Pediatric primary care or Family Medicine OR Master’s degree from nationally accredited ARC-PA program.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and basic computer skills.
