We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s student body as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Health Sciences beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Department/College Background
The Department of Health Sciences in the College of Health Professions is seeking qualified candidates who have a demonstrated record of success in teaching and professional service in the health science, healthcare administration, or related fields that are commensurate with an appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position is a nine-month, non-tenure-track faculty position. The responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in health science, healthcare administration and public health, and performance of other duties assigned by the department chair.
UTRGV faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college and program mission and be committed to UTRGV’s guiding principles.
Minimum Qualifications
An earned master’s degree in health science, Healthcare Administration or related field from an accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
An earned doctorate in Health Science, Healthcare Administration or related field from an accredited university. Work experience in the field of study and/or scholarly record in teaching discipline. Demonstrated scholarly productivity, grant procurement, active participation in professional organizations, evidence of contribution to curriculum development, evidence of participation in outreach and recruitment activities are highly valued.
Salary
Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
