Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist in managing their pain and recovery.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination during surgeries.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Surgical Assistance:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functional.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including preoperative and postoperative assessments.
- Document all aspects of care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Safety and Infection Control:
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards within the operating room.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and innovations in perioperative nursing.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in WA.
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Preferred experience as an O.R. Nurse
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- BSN desired but not required
