RESOURCE NURSE – INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Utilizing the latest imaging technology and advanced minimally-invasive techniques to diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases in almost every part of the body, we are able to treat diseases that are traditionally managed surgically, with less pain and shorter recovery time. Image-guidance with X-ray, ultrasound, and CT ensures greater accuracy and safety in these treatments. Most procedures are performed in an outpatient setting with sedation and no overnight hospital stay.
About the Job:
As a member of the Interventional Radiology team, the Resource Nurse directly oversees and serves as an immediate, first line clinical resource to staff on a designated unit and shift. Within this role, the RN models proficiency in clinical skills appropriate to the clinical area. In addition, the Resource Nurse is an effective communicator, promotes teamwork and collaboration and coaches staff in the processes of critical thinking and clinical decision making. The Resource RN works under the supervision and is accountable to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage shift flow for patient care, staffing and general operations.
- Provide oversight of staff during assigned shift.
- Manage/redirect issues and concerns within a timely manner using appropriate resources and chain of command.
- Communicate and collaborate with the leadership team within the unit and other departments to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and safety.
- Provide direct patient care using standards and current evidence.
- Promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Function competently within own scope of practice.
- Employ quality initiatives/process improvement criteria to reduce risk of harm and adverse events.
Who You Are:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing. BSN or matriculated in a BSN program.
- Active NH license as a Registered Nurse. Board certification in specialty within 2 years of hire.
- Minimum of two years current experience in specialty.
