POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Accountant-Grants - FHC. In this role, the successful candidate Reports to the Director of Grants, and prepares budgets and other financial materials for grant cost remibursment, as well as application proposals, renewals, and assists in the monthly close of the accounting period.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizes and maintains support data/documentation for quarterly and monthly billings/vouchers and submits timely vouchers to various grant regulatory entities for the portfolio of grants assigned.
- Coordinates to ensure proper allocation of personnel costs, and other than personnel costs to assigned grants
- Maintains proper accounting and tracking of foundation grants and contributions.
- Works on special grant related projects for either the Director of Grants, or the Grants Manager.
- Assists with annual grant reports and grant budgets.
- Provides support in the completion of work papers and supporting statements for various management reports.
- Assists in the preparation of year-end audit work papers.
- Coordinates and assists with audits from assigned grant regulatory entities.
- Assists in the preparation of pertinent schedules and reports for monthly closings.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries posted in General Ledger, in compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Communicates with program staff with corrective actions regarding appointed grants.
- Maintains grant account analysis and reconciliation for grants assigned.
- Submits General Ledger entries for grant revenue, expenses, and receivables timely for monthly closing
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree required with 2 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have two years of experience with grants and contracts.
- The successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of standard office software is essential, including proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet and database software (e.g., Microsoft Office, preferred).
- Ability to multi-task and/or coordinate multiple assignments is required.
- Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures, and effectively communicate detailed information to a diverse population, both verbally and in writing; excellent problem-solving skills is required.
