MRI Technologist
The MRI Technologist’s primary responsibilities will involve compassionately and accurately explaining the imaging procedure to the patient, calibrating and maintaining MRI equipment, assisting the manager in maintaining accreditation, following instructions from Providers regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging, correctly positioning the patient and adjusting the imaging equipment to the specified position, following correct techniques and procedures, keeping good patient records, and appropriately documenting imaging procedures in EHR and PACS.

Job Requirements:- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Primary or Post-Primary certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Associate's degree or higher from an ARRT-approved program.
- At least 2 years of experience in Medical Imaging
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Preferred:- Experience in Orthopedics
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
Responsibilities:- Educate patients regarding procedure.
- Log procedures completed. Provide copies of images to patients as requested.
- Operate PACS system.
- Under the clinical direction of the radiologist and general supervision of the MRI supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging Center Manager or designee, and Technical Director, performs a variety of MRI scanning sequences and imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
- Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed radio frequency pulsed sequences of MRI diagnosis.
- Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The services should be provided with attention to detail and friendly guest services.
- Ability to take MRI images and examine the images for properties such as density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
- Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure MRI equipment meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
- Clean, maintain and make minor adjustments to equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.
- Protect patients and other personnel from equipment hazards.
- Maintain MRI supplies.
- Deliver images to physician for reading/interpretation images by using the Picture Archive Communications System (PACS).
- Clean and make minor adjustments to MRI equipment and ensure equipment is in working order and report equipment malfunctions to manager or designee.
- Process charges and related paperwork using computer as directed.
- Compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Assist with the transportation of patients between the examination rooms and MRI department.
- Assist with accreditation process and other administrative duties as directed.
Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
