Job Title: RN Charge
Location: Temple, TX
Department : Pediatric Emergency Room
Schedule: Full Time -Nights - 36 hours per week
Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center - Temple has a 20 bed emergency room designed to address the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents. The emergency department equipped to handle all types of emergencies - from minor sprains and strains to major trauma.
American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma has verified Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's as a Level II pediatric trauma center, making it the only pediatric trauma center between Dallas and Austin and the only Pediatric Hospital for Baylor Scott and White. McLane Children?s is also a Magnet designated facility and you are able to obtain TNCC and ENPC certifications during the first year as well as triage trained within the first 2 years.
- Specialized equipment-from beds to blood pressure cuffs-designed just for children
- A new "Flash" CT scanner , one of only three in the country, which takes images at twice the speed and at a lower dose of radiation than other CT units
- Spacious family-friendly rooms designed to better accommodate parents and siblings
- A Child Life team to help children and their families cop with the stress and anxiety of medical treatment in a positive way
- 24-hour pediatric emergency department and verified trauma center equipped to deal with the most serious pediatric trauma cases
- Pediatric surgery with five advanced surgical suites and a three-room procedure suite
- Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Center with state-of-the-art MRI and a "Flash CT" scanner that emits the lowest effective level of radiation, reducing risk to smaller bodies, making scan times faster, and requiring less sedation
- VeinViewer illumination device to help access small veins and arteries beneath the skin
- ECMO therapy, a lifesaving heart and lung treatment reserved for the sickest of patients and a designated level IV NICU.
- Pediatric and neonatal transport ambulance and helicopter

Job Summary
Registered Nurse Charge oversees patient care, follows nursing regulations, fulfills organization's priorities, enhancing responsibility to promote mission. The main tasks of the role involve evaluating patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, creating personalized care plans, and assessing patient responses.

- You will utilize nursing judgement and reasoning to make precise health assessments, ensuring these assessments align with standard practices.
- You will check nursing procedures. Use research to make changes.
- You will demonstrate caring practices by addressing both emotional and physical discomfort, aiming to foster healing and prevent excess distress.

- Familiarity with nursing and patient care protocols and practices.

Qualifications
- We are looking for someone who has completed an established program in Nursing.
- At least (2) two years in the field.
- Registered Nurse License.
- You must have Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired.
