The ADFORS technician will have as his main role, support research and developing projects, focusing on asphalt samples preparation (slabs), and PVC plastisol preparation and analysis, as well as organizing the labs (5S) and supporting operational activities from the labs.
The Research Technician safely performs specialized R&D assignments, involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning our processes, equipment, and products for assigned areas.
The selected candidate will support R&D sample preparation and testing, equipment maintenance and lab operation in support of product development and other assigned R&D functions.
- Active involvement in standard and exploratory experimental design.
- Routine laboratory activity to make or prep materials and test samples.
- Development work with non-routine R&D assignments such as design of fixtures for experimental set-up and establishing proper data acquisition system.
- Collects, analyzes and reports scientific & engineering data obtained from laboratory equipment through an effective plan/coordination. Performs data analysis and present results and maintain laboratory notebook.
- Maintain laboratories and equipment including set-up, operation and troubleshooting of experimental equipment or instruments. Leads troubleshooting initiatives and machine repair efforts.
- Other duties in the department or site-wide committees as assigned.
Is this job for you?
- High School diploma or GED (demonstrated equivalent). Associates degree in an engineering, technical, or science related field (or demonstrated equivalent) preferred.
- Capability to use personal computer and Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word.
- Troubleshooting skills—to aid in fixing equipment and improving processes.
- Attention to details, ability to carefully follow standard operating procedures.
