Job Overview:
Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound School.
- ARDMS Certification required.
- Must be CPR certified.
Preferred:
- Minimum three years experience in a hospital setting performing the following: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Thyroid, Vascular, Pediatric, Biopsies, and Interventional Procedures.
- RVT.
Essential Functions:
- Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient.
- Ensure proper workflow is being maintained.
- Maintain positive relationships between Radiologist and sonographers.
- Assist Lead Technologist and Supervisor in the day-to-day operation.
- Primary person ensuring proper steps are taken in the documentation process of ultrasound exams (tracking/dictation of exam in a timely manner).
- Initiate service calls and documents.
- Train fellow sonographers and students with complex and/or new techniques.
