Job Summary and Qualifications
CT Technologist - PRN/Per Diem
We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist to provide computerized assisted tomographic services to patients as ordered by physicians following established standards and practices under the direction of the radiologist. As a CT Technologist, you will be competent in all of the following: brain, total spine, facial, sinus, orbits, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper/lower extremities, sella, and biopsies. As a CT Technologist:
- You will select proper technical factors for study then perform and complete diagnostic CT examinations accurately in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
- You will possess sound and thorough operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system.
- You will assist in the administration of contrast media and other related procedures.
- You will prepare, transfer, and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated.
- You will document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
- You will obtain high-quality CT images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation.
- You will remain proficient in executing software protocols and keep up to date with changes in the field by in-service study, attending courses or seminars as necessary/recommended.
- You will maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and other caregiver colleagues, including the radiologist.
- You will check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases, and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
- You will accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an accredited, AMA-approved institution.
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications.
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health CRT licensure.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to CT and X-ray.
- Knowledge of the safety practices relative to radiation safety, hazardous material, and infection control policies.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, sterile technique, and patient positioning techniques specific to CT and X-ray.
- Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting of patients/equipment (100+/- lbs).
