Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work within the AWM (Asset & Wealth Management) Public Product Control team, specifically supporting the growing Private Credit Group and BDC (Business Development Company) platform. You will primarily work within a team that is responsible for the review of Fund P&L and assist with the oversight of our price verification process of private investments, primarily private debt, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
You will interact with Controller’s management, the portfolio management team and traders, as well as support areas such as Operations, Risk, Technology, Fund Accounting, Legal, Compliance and Investor Relations. You will be responsible for investor and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the review of P&L across multiple funds while coordinating with the Fund Administrator to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Oversight of the pricing review of third-party vendors and broker-dealers; conduct key discussions with third party vendors on pricing challenges
- Review monthly independent price verification results, performance and NAV to official fund administrator
- Perform quarterly valuation process for public and private debt, including financial statement analysis, yield analysis and discounted cash flow approaches
- Perform quarterly oversight of the BDC 10-Q financial statements including review of MD&A disclosures; perform annual review of 10-K financials and external audit process
- Understand SOX 404 framework and document supporting evidence of key SOX controls
- Develop a broad understanding of credit markets and the BDC industry
- Involvement in external/internal Audit review process
- Daily interaction with portfolio managers, Fund Accounting & Operations
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance / Accounting, CPA/CFA or MBA preferred
- 3-5 years relevant work experience (public and/or private)
- A strong understanding of Fixed Income and Equities markets and the alternative investment management industry
- Extensive Microsoft Office experience (Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
- A strong understanding of valuation accounting disclosures
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written communication) skills, including experience presenting/communicating with senior managers
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Results driven and great multitasking skills
