Marcum LLP is seeking an experienced Assurance Senior Manager, preferably with experience in the healthcare and not-for-profit industries to join our growing and well-established national firm in our Hartford office. Job Description
- Responsible for managing assurance engagements with minimum oversight by Partner.
- Be an active role-model and leader for staff to emulate.
- Coordinate various planning phases of engagements and ensure work is on schedule.
- Generate budgets and maintain profitable realization rates.
- Review and evaluate work papers, and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policy.
- Review reports and financial statements.
- Review with the engagement partner significant findings that raise questions involving auditing standards and firm policy.
- Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed.
- Be actively involved in practice development efforts of the firm.
- Effectively manage employee and client expectations.
- Provide on-the-job training to subordinates.
- Assist partners with preparation of engagement budgets, client billing and staff performance reviews, also to assume billing and collection responsibilities under the direction of the partner.
- Ability to represent the Firm by presenting on areas of expertise at third party events.
- Review staff work product and ensure firm processes and quality control procedures are being executed.
- Must have outstanding work ethic, willing to roll up sleeves work attitude.
- Attend professional development seminars and maintain annual CPE requirements.
- Ability to spend significant time at client sites. Extensive travel within the New England location.

Qualifications
- BBA/BS in Accounting.
- CPA certification required.
- Advanced knowledge of GMP.
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships.
- All candidates must have their own personal vehicle for travel requirements.
- This is not a remote position. Candidates must be able to work in the office a minimum of three days per week.
