Financial Manager
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and hands-on Finance Manager who will develop and manage the Company's financial planning, including budgeting, scenario analysis, margin improvement, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a background in CPG finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to excel in the fast-paced environment of a startup.
Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting: Develops the company's annual budget, working closely with department heads to ensure realistic and achievable financial plans.
- Forecasting: Leads the financial forecasting process, updating forecasts throughout the year based on actual performance and market conditions.
- Financial Analysis: Provides detailed financial analysis and performance reports to inform strategic decisions (e.g., product profitability, cost analysis, break-even points).
- Variance Analysis: Compares budgeted results to actual results and explains key variances to management, identifying areas for improvement.
- Scenario Planning: Partner with Controller to conduct scenario analysis to assess the financial impact of business decisions (e.g., new investments, M&A, expansion).
Collaboration between the DYPER Controller & Financial Manager is key! DYPER has an experienced Controller in place. The Controller and Financial Manager need to work closely to ensure that day-to-day financial operations align with long-term financial strategies.
Experience Seeking in the Ideal Candidate
- A passion for DYPER's mission.
- 10+ years applicable work experience as a finance leader in a high growth environment.
- Previous start-up experience is highly preferred.
- Must have experience in at least one of the following: CPG, product mix optimization initiatives, margin improvement initiatives, and/or DTC brands.
- A willingness and skillset to be hands-on and initially be an individual contributor before building a team over time.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills to convey data and storylines.
- Expert MS Excel skills - successful candidates should be comfortable with extensive financial modeling and working with large amounts of data.
- Experience with ERP solutions (i.e. NetSuite).
- Solid understanding of GAAP in businesses with significant working capital components.
- Demonstrated ability to drive large-scale planning processes partnered with the strategic planning process that involve cross company stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with detail orientation a must.
- The desire to improve processes to make your own job easier over time.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools for data extraction and analysis.
