As a Key Investment Services (KIS) professional, the KIS Investment Center Consultant will be responsible for a book of business of Key Investment Services clients. This person will proactively initiate dialogue with clients in order to enhance and expand their Key Investment Services relationship and improve client satisfaction by conducting portfolio reviews, offering financial advice, and selling investment products. Additionally, the KIS Investment Consultant will be a valuable partner to KeyBank branch team members, assisting customers with investment needs throughout the KeyBank branch network, and identifying cross-selling opportunities for their partners across KeyBank's various lines of business.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Display consultative needs-based selling skills to build rapport, strengthen and expand Mass Market client relationships.
- Proactively and reactively engage clients for the purpose of effectively cross-selling KIS products and services.
- Perform financial planning and periodic reviews of client portfolios.
- Recognize the implicitly-stated and explicitly-stated need for additional products and services.
- Knowledgeably respond to and overcome client objections by offering solutions with options.
- Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of KIS products and services.
- Complete the sale and application processes for products and services.
- Recognize and effectively act upon client retention opportunities.
- Consistently deliver distinctive client service that is knowledgeable, empathetic, patient, prompt, and courteous.
- Build rapport and strengthen client relationships while servicing client needs.
- Research and provide verification and documentation of client issues and resolution.
- Act as liaison for our clients to provide first call resolution by coordinating and following up with other departments or lines of business as appropriate.
- Meet and exceed sales, accuracy, and efficiency goals while contributing to the overall sales success of the team, KIS, and KeyBank.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve team, department, and line of business commitments.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures related to servicing, sales, regulatory compliance, quality, and sales client contact strategy.
- Develop a strong "center of influence" strategy that leverages partnerships with the Retail Bank.
- Act as peer partner to other KIS Investment Center Consultants, including those recently hired.
- Be an active and trusted "virtual" partner for KeyBank branch team members.
- Serve as a trusted resource and partner for KeyBank Licensed Bankers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3+ years investment sales, retail or telephone sales experience required.
- FINRA Series 7, Series 66 (or Series 63 and Series 65) registrations and applicable Life/Health Insurance license (or able to obtain within 120 days of hire).
- Demonstrated success meeting established sales/referral minimum expectations, goals and other measurements.
- Demonstrated success in cross-selling, up-selling and sales referring.
- Strong knowledge of financial products and services.
- Work experience requiring multi-tasking and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated success in problem solving and resolving client issues/concerns.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent phone communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with knowledge and experience in Windows environment.
- Knowledge of financial services computer systems.
- High School Diploma or GED.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
- Retail bank broker-dealer sales experience.
- Inbound or outbound phone sales and customer service experience.
- Leadership or coaching experience.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $26.00 to $31.00 per hour depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes short-term incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
