As part of theGas Power One Field Services team,FieldCoreinstalls, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.Let’s Talk about the RoleAs the Controls Technical Field Advisor for Steam Turbines you will manage controls activities on site during the Installation and Commissioning and Maintenance of steam turbines and equipment.You will be responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labour, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.How You Will Make a DifferenceActively manage controls activities on site during Installation and Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty equipment, including but not limited to oversight of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosticsOverall responsibility of the management of site activities including planning, organizing, integrating, and directing of resources such as labour, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirementsUnderstand PLC ladder logic, including basic understanding of how to navigate through ladder rungs while troubleshootingRead and interpret electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagramsEnsure the correct installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance practices are followedProvide general knowledge of equipment instrumentation calibration, including various types of transmittersProvide technical expertise to customers, service support, field technicians and operatorsProvide timely and accurate internal and external reportsEnsure contractual obligations are met and attend technical meetings with CustomersEnsure all in-field activities are carried out safely complying with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and proceduresProvide expert consultation on complex projectsProvide customers with technical direction and support on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged productsSpecial Role Requirements:Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignmentsSkills for SuccessYou will be an experienced engineer in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation and commissioning as well as:Experienced with Steam Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary SystemsExperienced on Mark VI, Mark Vie, Mark V controls systems, preferableAble to understand and implement controls softwareAformal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering are nice to have, but we are mostinterested in your total experience and professional achievements.
