Who we are:
New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (NYLGBS) works with businesses and their employees to help provide financial security, peace of mind, and market-leading outcomes. Our Group Insurance Sales and Account Managers cultivate relationships within their assigned territory or block of business with insurance brokers, as well as current and prospective clients. In these roles, Sales and Account Managers cultivate relationships with insurance brokers, as well as current and prospective clients, acting as a resource to them by offering solutions to concerns they may have.
What you'll do:
The NYLGBS Sales Academy is a multi-week training program designed to provide you with an in-depth understanding of what it takes to succeed in a Group Insurance Sales or Account Management role. The program includes training in the classroom and field, structured field office development, self-study programs, mentoring, and coaching. Once finished, you will have the necessary tools to understand the versatility of the Group Insurance industry, recognize its complexities, and experience a fulfilling career.
You'll also be expected to:
- Establish, develop and maintain relationships within your assigned market acting as a resource to your current and prospective clients.
- Intimately know and promote the NYLGBS product suite and services.
- Work closely with a variety of internal and external individuals to accomplish your goals, including your Regional Market Manager, Service Operations, Underwriting, Pricing, Product Solutions, and Marketing.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, close ratios, follow-up, and achievement of goals. Follow up on client leads and referrals resulting from field activity.

- Willingness and ability to relocate to another territory in the US.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office apps.

Pay Transparency
Salary range: $47,500 - $80,000
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors including but not limited to individual experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
