DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Enterprise Risk Consultant Asset Management, Senior position supports the activities of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. This includes developing and maintaining enterprise risk monitoring and reporting systems, conducting divisional risk assessments, providing analytical support to finance and risk areas, and coordinating operational risk functions. This position is focused on the asset management functions of the company including Alerus Retirement and Benefits, Wealth Management, and Trust. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Risk Management with significant internal client relationships with management of various business units.
Essential Responsibilities:
Job Function 1: Analyze, monitor and report divisional risk profiles - 60%
- Conduct divisional risk reviews in accordance with established enterprise risk review program.
- Support divisional management in the development and implementation of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Monitor divisional KRIs. Investigate and report on threshold breaches.
- Support divisional management in the development and implementation of Risk Control Self Assessments.
- Support analysis for stress testing and capital allocation.
- Investigate incidents and monitor findings through remediation.
Job Function 2: Support operational risk management functions - 30%
- Coordinate Business Continuity Planning process and documentation.
- Support Model Risk Management program.
- Evaluate Risk Acceptance requests and recommend appropriate action.
- Facilitate New Product Risk Assessments with management.
Job Function 3: Administrative support for Enterprise Risk Management Committee - 10%
- Track issues through remediation.
- Maintain the company's Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance systems.
- Periodically update risk appetite statements.
- Assist with ERM Meeting prep and minutes.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum 8 years' experience with asset management, financial services operations management, financial institution risk management, or related capacities.

Physical Demands - Must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
- Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day.
- Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
- Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
