As the Human Resource Business Partner, you will be a trusted advisor to main leaders, focusing on building business strategies and driving organizational growth through HR practices for the Protective Marine Coatings Business. Your role will involve working on special projects, setting goals, design thinking, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Reporting directly to the Senior HRBP, Operations, you will provide onsite support at the Little Rock Plant with additional oversight of plant locations in Kansas City and Oklahoma City.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
- Facilitate communication between employees and supervisors across departments/functions, providing HR guidance in collaboration with Centers of Excellence (COE) to ensure quick, equitable resolution of employee questions.
- Partner with site leaders to implement organizational structures and processes that align with growth priorities and cost management programs, including providing input for compensation structures.
- Participate in the development, and administration of programs along with enhancement of current ones to provide a union-free environment within the operation that balances business and employee needs.
- Use data and insights to lead decision-making and solve for trends.
- Help implement organizational development and change management programs.
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors in the administration and implementation of plant and company-wide programs, such as reward and recognition programs, annual company-sponsored events, and supported charitable activities.
- Engage with all employees in the assigned work groups and develop an understanding of their job roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field; Master's degree in an HR-related field preferred.
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience; High level of expertise in specialist areas including organizational development and design, recruitment, talent development, compensation and benefits, along with employee and labor relations in a union setting.
- Proven leader in both union and non-union settings. Experienced involvement in labor contract negotiation, arbitration and grievance support and management is necessary.
- Proven executive presence and the ability to influence and facilitate group settings at all levels of the organization.
- PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
