University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapy clinical practice.
The Division of Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapy is dedicated to innovative and exceptional patient care, research and education.
The University of Minnesota is an internationally respected pioneer in the area of Blood and Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapy (BMT&CT). The first successful human allogenic bone marrow transplant was performed at the University of Minnesota in 1968. Other "firsts" include the first transplant to treat a patient with lymphoma (1975), the first transplant to treat an inherited metabolic disease (1982), and the world's first umbilical cord blood transplant performed using pre-implantation genetic testing to ensure a perfect tissue match (2000). Our clinical program is recognized as the second largest unrelated donor transplant program in the country and one of the largest umbilical cord blood transplant centers in the world.
In This Role, You Will:
- Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients receiving BMT and cellular therapy.
- Have inpatient responsibilities at both the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital and M Health Fairview Pediatric Specialty Clinics in Minneapolis, MN.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about BMT and cellular therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers to optimize patient care outcomes.
- Spend the first few months observing with providers in our division to learn BMT and cellular therapy. We will develop an educational plan for you.
- Perform procedures: Bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures and first assist for marrow procurement procedures will be required in the practice.
Schedule:
- Full Time - 1.0 FTE
- Days
- Will require weekends, approximately 1 in 4 and rotating holidays.
- Schedules subject to change depending on census, utilization and other factors.
We're Looking for a PA or PNP Who Is:
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC, PNCB or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (PNP's).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
