Clinical Research Assistant
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with activities in human research.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six (6) months or more of experience in clinical research environment. Prior experience in working with cognitively impaired older adults. Prior experience with research administration and regulation, such as working with IRB.
Brief Description of Duties:
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will prepare and perform brain imaging research studies in older adults with cognitive impairments or dementia. The incumbent will assist with writing/modifying research protocols and other documents for IRB or other regulatory reviews. The incumbent will also interact directly with study participants or their family members, including recruitment, phone calls, consenting and performing interviews, administering brief memory/cognition tests, and coordinating and assisting brain imaging studies and blood sample collections. The incumbent will also maintain the integrity of collected data and samples and maintain the study protocol documents and compliance with all IRB policies. The successful incumbent must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills.
Duties:
- Study recruitment and phone calls.
- Consenting and interviews, administering brief memory/cognition tests.
- Coordinating and assisting brain imaging studies.
- Managing study documents and funding, and IRB processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
